Campaign: ‘One Fight, Unite’
Towards the end of 2014 we were put in touch with an amazing pop group called ‘Besureis’. We later met up in London to do some filming for a ground breaking documentary called ‘Animals: A Parallel History’ which is due to be released later this year. As well as filming Besureis produced an amazing sound track for the film entitled ‘Through The Looking Glass‘. There are not many pop bands that dedicate their music to the animals of the world but Besureis are one of them. Besureis are producing some of the most awareness raising sounds of the decade with a special emphasis on hunting and endangered species. They have a new album due to be released later this year, so watch this space.
Earlier this year Besureis launched their ‘One Fight, Unite’ campaign which is dedicated to raising awareness and financial support for the protection of endangered animal species in South Africa, in particular African elephants, rhinos & mountain gorillas. The campaign also seeks to address the urgency and need for collaboration and action.
These animals are routinely poached, hunted and slaughtered for their meat, ivory and horns, which has driven them to the brink of extinction. Unless radical efforts are made to abolish the supply and demand chain for these amazing animals, they will be driven into extinction, some within the next two years. As with the Western Black Rhino which became extinct in 2011. There are only four White Rhinos that remain on this planet as of 2015, all of which are held in captivity.
Any ivory, rhino horn or bush meat for sale near you? If so, please collect information and report back to us providing as much detail as possible and we’ll send out an SOS. Please support this urgent campaign by liking the One Fight Unite facebook page.
The following documentary provides an insight into the harsh reality of rhino poaching, click here >>> The Last Rhino. This sick barbaric treatment of these beautiful creatures have driven Besureis into overdrive, influencing their music and making them ever more determined to help put an end to this animal genocide. Besureis have been working hard to attract international support for this campaign making contact with some of our favourite celebrities particularly those involved in animal advocacy and environmentalism. All of whom have showed their support by signing the ‘Say No’ poster.
More information can also be found here on the Besureis website where you could support by buying a campaign t-shirt or purchasing their album. If people would like to make a cash donation be assured that all moneys goes to The Rotary, which is a non-profit organisation that distributes to Dr. Jane Goodall‘s Roots & Shoots, Dr. Sheldrick’s Wildlife Trust and The Chipembere Rhino Foundation.
An exclusive message from Chris Packham on how people can engage themselves in having a stance and a unified and strong voice followed by a couple more lectures by Dr Steven Best.
Moreover, Besureis have recently started off their One Fight Unite Lifestyle Project, please check em out on facebook (see beneath) and give them a thumbs up 🙂
